Captain O'Brien's Craic are a seven-piece Celtic punk powerhouse from Launceston, lutruwita/Tasmania, serving up high-octane folk-punk packed with big hooks, raucous energy and stories worth shouting about. Drawing on Tasmania's convict past, the bushranger tradition and their deep Irish roots, they blend tales of the sea, rebellion and the colonial experience with the raw spirit of Celtic punk.

With several members bringing extensive musical theatre experience, the band's storytelling comes with a healthy dose of drama, swagger and theatrical punch. After storming the festival circuit in 2023 and releasing two EPs, 2026 sees Captain O'Brien's Craic turning up the volume with a new run of studio tracks designed to capture the sheer force of their live shows.

Think Irish spirit, Tasmanian grit, soaring choruses and seven musicians who know how to put on a show. Captain O'Brien's Craic don't just play folk-punk - they bring the craic.
